Phillip Garrido, accused kidnapper and rapist of Jaycee Lee Dugard, has apparently written a letter to a KCRA station anchor. In the letter, Garrido has apologized to the world for his crimes of horror. He wrote, “First off I would like to apologize to every human being for what has taken place.” The only people that he needs to apologize to, are his victim, her family and loved ones, and God.
Garrido continues with his apology, claiming that he had ended his “sexual problem” through “the spirit of Christ.” Garrido’s attorney wants people to see that Garrido is a “changed man.”
Before anyone musters up too much compassion for Garrido, and before anyone decides that he is being truthful in his apology, remember that a sincerely remorseful man would have immediately contacted Jaycee’s real family as soon as his ‘sexual healing’ and his new found love of Christ took place. Had he been truly sorry and a changed man, he would have turned himself in, subsequently ending Jaycee Lee’s captivity and her family’s nightmare.
