Polanski is the Real Victim and No Longer a Threat!

Samantha Geimer is the woman who was forced into sex (rape) and sodomized by Roman Polanski when she was thirteen years-old; a crime that is being called a “sex case.”

In an interview with The Los Angeles Times, Samantha claims that, because she has forgiven Polanski, that everyone else should too.  The Times is also reporting that Samantha proposes that Polanski is no longer a threat because he is seventy six years-old.

It has been reported that Geimer settled a civil suit with Polanski years ago and feels that her attacker should not have to serve any prison time.

“People say I have ulterior motives…”… “That doesn’t make it true. I’ve felt this way from the beginning.”

Look at the photo of Geimer above. She is standing at the Premiere of “Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired,” an HBO documentary about the filmmaker. Does anyone else find it strange that a previous victim of a child sex crime would attend a gala premier of a film about the life of her perpetrator?

Roman Polanski has been convicted of a serious child sex charge, he must pay for his crime. Samantha Geimer might have very private reasons for not wanting justice served, but she should do her research about how many seventy and eighty year-old men have molested teenagers and children. The mind causes degeneracy, not the chronology of the body, and as people get older, they often become more depraved.

When thirteen year-old Samantha was raped (oh sorry, I mean unlawful “sex” with a minor)  and sodomized by Roman Polanski, I was a resident of the State of California, and as a resident, I was a plaintiff in the case and I want Roman Polanski to serve his sentence. I am very happy that Samantha has forgiven Polanski, but I want justice served –even if his victim does not.

I would say this to Samantha: If prosecutors allow Polanski to go fee, it is saying to all perpetrators of children, “Go ahead, molest and rape kids, you’ll get a free pass.” And it would say to all victims and survivors of child sexual abuse, “You are worthless.”

Samantha has no idea how many other victims there might be out there. Rapists don’t just rape once and end it; especially if they get away with it and have the support of their victim.

The NY Daily News has quoted Samantha as saying, “I have survived, indeed prevailed, against whatever harm Mr. Polanski may have caused me as a child…” She added, “I got over it a long time ago.”

Well Ms. Geimer, maybe you got over it but how do you know whether or not there are other women out there that Polanski might also have “had sex” with? How do we know there aren’t victims out there suffering from the multitude of physical, psychological and emotional problems that stem from being raped and sodomized by a degenerate little film-making worm? Maybe the incident with Geimer was the only one that Polanski was ever caught at.

This is why we, as a society, prosecute and imprison those who commit child rape, incest and molestation. It has nothing to do with how one victim might get over it or their ability to forgive their perpetrator. We imprison child rapists and those who “have sex” with children to send a message to other child rapists. We do it so the ones convicted of the crime don’t go out and repeatedly perpetrate sex crimes on children. We also do it out of cause and effect –rape or have sex with a teenager and you must suffer the consequences. It also has a lot to do with how many OTHER victims are out there crying for justice because they were not heard, rescued, or allowed to speak about what happened to them. Most victims of child sexual abuse and rape remain silent.

We prosecute and imprison those who rape children because we want to stop other children from becoming victims too. So, in my opinion, Samantha Geimer is behaving selfishly. She is not looking at the bigger picture.

“Anonymous” again[this is talkingbook of wordpress], reply to first comments:

I think it’s rather dubious that the mom let her 13 year old go with this guy. Years ago I had read (in Playboy mag) that the mom was the one who reported the crime to the police in the first place. This was back in the early 90s I read it.

That could have been full of it also, since the same article also said “the girl” was a regular on a television show–the guesses I came up with at the time were Molly Ringwald and Justine Bateman.

That is quite creepy to wonder if the mom might have wanted something from it–like to look like a heroic mom or worse, to get the money. Or both.

I agree anonymous, too many unanswered questions. Did the mother set her daughter up with a guy who likes young girls so she could get a cash settlement?

I don’t think we will ever know the truth.

It seems to me she just wants the media attention to go away. She said years ago that the way the kids at her school reacted was worse than what the actual rape did to her.

I think she is in denial about the psychological damage done to her, and I have often if her marital problems were partly due to the aftereffects of what happened.

It seems to me she should be more interested in a rapist serving his sentence.

The more I read about this case, and the more I think about it, the more I wonder about the truth of it all –especially why a woman would drop her young teenage daughter off to hang out with a much older man all day –a man who obviously has trouble controlling himself around young girls.

Especially since there was reportedly a monetary settlement between Polanski and the family.

Was money a motive to begin with?

Child rape is one of the most heinous and unforgivable acts imaginable. I applaud our government for continuing to seek justice and wish we would universally behave with as much integrity. The victim’s changing attitudes toward the event are not relevant to the enforcement of the law.

Yippee for Samantha, what forgiveness bullshit that is. It is okay I forgive him so he can get away with it. Sorry Samantha, that just makes it okay for all of the other child and baby rapists, as well as him to continue to rape and molest with no consequences. Insane!
