I am going to start with this famous quote: “Neighbors were stunned at the allegations.”
…”I’ve known him for 32 years, and he’s an angel, a saint,” said friend Sol Borger, about Rabbi Gershon Kranczer. “Whenever I need anything, I know I can go to him. There’s no way he would do this.”
Ah! This time the alleged perpetrator is not only incapable of sexually abusing or raping children, he is also a Saint! And why is he a Saint, according to this man? Because the good rabbi helped Sol out many times. This shows the self-centered root of denial. Sol’s denial is based in having been getting what he needed from the rabbi.
The rabbi and three of his sons have been accused of sexually abusing four female relatives for as much as 15 years.
Authorities allege that 58 year-old Rabbi Gershon Kranczer sexually abused two underage relatives, while his 24, 21 and 15 year-old sons repeatedly “attacked” the other girls. Um, are they talking about RAPE?
Police say Kranczer and his 21-year-old son, Asher, have taken off for Israel and are no where to be found.
The rabbi’s 24-year-old son, Yechezkel Kranczer, and his 15-year-old son have both allegedly surrendered to police.
The oldest alleged victim, a 20-year-old woman, is said to have revealed the abuse to a co-worker at a yeshiva. The co-worker is said to have gone to authorities with the information and the alleged sexual abuse of the other girls, now ages 19, 17 and 8, was discovered.
Police say the 20-year-old woman reported being “frequently molested” by the rabbi in his home over the past 15 years.
“Investigators do not believe Kranczer’s wife was involved in the pattern of abuse and may have unwittingly given her husband a ride to Kennedy Airport on Monday, police sources said.”
What a miracle! Fifteen years of child sexual abuse taking place in the home with four alleged victims and the mother knew nothing!
“Detectives are not certain if other female relatives also were abused. Local leaders expressed worry the victims stayed silent for so long because of a culture of silence in the Orthodox community. Too many victims are then victimized by people who are angry at for them going forward,” said Assemblyman Dov Hikind. “People are afraid to even talk about it.””
The rabbi’s 24 year-old son, Yechezkel Kranczer, has allegedly been charged with 70 counts of sexually abusing the now 17 and 20 year-old relatives. The 15-year-old son has reportedly been charged with sexually abusing an 8-year-old relative.
“NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said cops were coordinating with Israeli authorities to track down the fugitives.”
I’ll believe it when I see it. According to Vicki Polin, founder and executive director of The Awareness Center, “Israel has been a Mecca for sex offenders.”
