Mother Sentenced to 50 years for Murdering Baby When He Interrupted Facebook Game

The Florida mother who killed her 3 month-old boy while playing Farmville on Facebook has been sentenced to 50 years in prison.

Alexandra Tobias

22 year-old Alexandra Tobias, told the court that she had postpartum depression when she murdered 3-month-old Dylan.

Is “postpartum depression” just another label for ‘I don’t want to be a mother. I want my free time back, I am overwhelmed, can’t deal with it and want to get rid of what is stopping my freedom?’

The judge told her,  “He who is the most defenseless among us was murdered by his own mommy. And why? Because he was crying during a game of FishVille or FarmVille or whatever was going on during Facebooking time that day.”

Nancy Grace is reporting that Alexandra was on Zolof and Zanax for her depression. Sounds like another case of pharmaceutical drugs suppressing rage until something triggers it. In this case, her baby was the trigger. All he wanted was love and attention. All she wanted was to play Farmville.

A new mother taking two powerful prescribed anti-depression drugs without any monitoring, accountability. or responsibility for the doctor or the pharmaceutical company, kills her infant and the computer game gets the blame for triggering the event. Hmmmmm…..

  2. Andre' says:

so what do you think ? I think the pharmaceutical companies should be held responsible. They almost never are.

    • Alethea says:

I absolutely think that the Pharmaceutical companies, and the doctors that get the kickbacks, should be held responsible in these cases. However, the Bush Administration helped pass laws that protect the drug companies.
