“A former daycare worker from Moon with a history of drug arrests is charged with owning child pornography.
Pamela Smallis, 49, who was charged earlier this year by Moon Police with using her children to sell drugs from her Stocker Drive home, is accused of possessing photos and videos depicting nude minors engaged in sexual activity, according to Pennsylvania Attorney General Linda Kelly’s office.
Smallis, who was once employed as at a Beaver County daycare center, was initially being investigated for selling narcotics and prescription medications to children, according to a statement from Kelly.
During the investigation, the attorney’s general office examined a phone memory card and discovered 33 pornographic photos and two videos depicting children engaged in sexual acts.
Smallis was taken into custody on Sunday. Moon Township Police assisted in the arrest.
She is held on $50,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 25 in Coraopolis District Court.
She is charged with 34 counts of sexual abuse of children, 16 counts of unlawful contact with a minor, five counts of sexual exploitation of children, five counts of endangering the welfare of children, five counts of corruption of minors, and one count of criminal use of a communication facility.
Moon Police Chief Leo McCarthy said earlier this year that Smallis’ children sold prescription drugs and marijuana to police informants from her home, and she frequently brought them along to drug sales in the township.”
